Comparison of Reaction Time of Sedentary with Hearing Disability with Footballers
Abstract
This study was carried out to compare footballers with hearing disability (FHD) with the sedanters with hearing disability (SHD). Fifteen FHD (age mean=18.13±2.26 years) and 17 SHD (age mean=18.29±1.53 years) voluntarily participated in the study. The heights of participants as centimeter (cm), and body weights as kilogram (kg) were measured and recorded. To measure reaction times of the participants before and after massage intervention “Nelson Reaction Time Scale” was used. Independent t test was used to determine the differences between groups and the significance level considered as p<0.05. After study, there were significant differences between groups in dominant hand and two handed reaction times in favor of FHD (p<0.05). There was no difference as to foot reaction time. The results suggest that doing regular sports bring about a positive difference for FHD.
