The Comparisons of Body Fat Percentages and Physiological Features of Sportsmen Who Dance in the Zeybek and Horon Folk Dance Teams
Abstract
In this survey, it was aimed to compare the body fat percentages and physiological characteristics of university student sportsmen of 18-26years old performing zeybek and horon dancers. 16 participants were zeybek performers, while 16 participants were horon performers. Total 32 male folk dancers participated in the study the significance valve of the result was accepted as (P>0.05). At the end of this study it was that were found: the mean height were zeybek, 1.75±0.44m- horon 1.80±0.52m the mean weight were zeybek 73.81±9.02kg- horon 74.00 ±11.80kg, the mean percent body fat were zeybek 15.64±4.64mm- horon 11.68±4.16mm, the mean anaerobic power were zeybek 115.37±16.28kg-m/sec.-horon 110.47±19.53kg-m/sec, the mean grip strength were zeybek 45.96±9.37kg- horon 49.33±8.01kg (right hand) zeybek 42.50±8.08kg- horon 45.43±8.18.kg (left hand) the mean aerobic power zeybek 38.87±6.21ml.kg.min.-horon.40.27±8.51ml.kg.min, Consequently, a significant difference was found in favorite of horon team in terms of body fat percentage.
